I owe him a debt. The kind money can’t repay.
He wants something else: me, for one year.
But I don’t even know who he is…
365 days and nights doing everything he wants…except that.
“I’m not going to sleep with you,” I say categorically.
He laughs.
“I’m going to make you a promise,” his eyes challenge mine. “Before our time is up, you’ll beg me for it.”

This book is the first in the Tell Me series. Charlotte Byrd has created another fantastic read with a roller coaster story that grabs you from the first page. The plot contains drama, mystery, suspense, and romance. The characters (Olive and Nicholas) have incredible chemistry. I could not put this book down until the end which is a cliffhanger. I’m anxious to read the second book in this series which will be released in September. Charlotte’s writing is always creative, unpredictable, and addictive! This book is well worth the purchase price. I received an ARC copy of this book in return for an honest and voluntary review.
  • A bit of a slow start but then...

This book is the beginning of a new series by Charlotte Byrd. I’ve enjoyed reading all her books (She’s one of my favorite authors). I received it as an ARC. The story’s an interesting one, Olivia Kernes is a college student. She and Sydney, her roommate, live in Boston. Boston’s expensive and with her rent and student loans payments due, Olive finds herself in a tight situation. Then, out of the blue she gets a check covering all her student loans. It’s from a Mr. Crawford. She’s confounded and shows the check to Sydney. Then the two of them go back and forth with the “Who’s Crawford? Is it real and what do they want for it?” They can’t figure it out. Olive finally decides to go to the bank. She presents the large check and is promptly greeted by one of the bank’s officers who thanks her for her business. It appears the check is good so Olive pays off all her student loan debt. A few days later she gets another letter, this one giving her an all expenses paid vacation to Hawaii. Olive helps her sick mom as much as she can despite the fact that her mom gives her grief about happenings years before, a pregnancy and it’s fallout (Mom and Dad are very Catholic.). Mom’s nosey. She snoops and finds the letter offering the free vacation which she delightedly burns in front of Olive. Why should she have a free vacation. Fortunately for Olive because of rereading the letter so many times, she’d memorized the entire letter. Olive decides to take her vacation and finds that Sydney is accompanying her to watch out for her friend. Upon arriving in Hawaii they’re brought to a beautiful home where Olive is asked to wait for Mr. Crawford. After waiting a bit she takes off on her own to see the beach and injures her leg. She’s helped by a very nice surfer and returns to await her meeting with Mr. Crawford. There’s dinner and a party and still no meeting so she returns to her room in a huff, takes out a book and goes to bed. She’s awakened by Mr. Crawford’s assistant Amelia and told the meeting is happening “ Now.” Olive refuses to get up and the next person to come to her door turns out to be the actual Nicholas Crawford, the surfer who helped her earlier. They agree to meet for dinner the next day. At dinner Nicholas tells Olive that he wants repayment for his gift. She owes him 365 nights/days. He has his reasons which he explains. The two are very attracted to each. There’s a $1,000,000.00 offer, a retreat to home, more problems from an ungrateful mother, gangsters, more debt. Nicholas has the fix, a Game. Olive wants to know exactly what the game is. There’s steam involved. The story really starts to move from here. It took a while to really draw me into this one which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars. I look forward to more about Nicholas’s ultimate game.

First installment of a series. Olive Kernes received a check in the mail for the exact amount of her student loans. Who sent her the money and why? Should she deposit it? She gets advice from her best friend Sydney who is very supportive. There is mystery and adventure and possible romance. In addition there is the relationship with her mother who is a terrible woman and Nicholas who is a mystery. I would have liked more of the story in this installment. I felt it was just an introduction to the story to come. However I enjoyed it and am interested in knowing what will happen next. I received a ARC copy of this book for my review
  • Please don’t stop

This was an amazing read! Of course, I don’t expect anything less with Charlotte Byrd’s books. She’s such a great author. The book starts out a little slow, but not too bad. Olive has a ton of student loans and receives a letter and check paying all them off. She finds out more of who the mystery person is and a little of why. It was so sweet and I wanted to cry. But I would still like to know more about Nicolas and the past and what role it will play. I feel like there’s more he isn’t telling her. Gosh I hope the next book doesn’t have Olive’s mom in it. I couldn’t stand her. And that little twist involving her surprised me. If you’ve read some of this author’s books, you will at first think this one is like a past book. Don’t worry, it’s enough difference to not even compare. The book really takes off at the half way point. I wish someone would give me some money like this. Heck, I would spend a year with them in Maui lol. I loved this book.
  • A first book in a new series

    By Mjs4196361564
This is the first book of a new series and it doesn’t disappoint! Olive gets drawn in and Nickolas isn’t going to make it easy for her as they come together. With an outstanding group of characters this is going to be a book that you can’t put down. But when you reach the end it will leave you waiting for the next book! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

  • Intriguing read

4.75 stars The challenges of not having money is not easy when life comes knocking. Olive is a woman with school loan debt and a mother who is just mean and nasty. Her treatment of her daughter is deplorable and yet she still wants all she can get out of Olive. Out of the blue, Olive receives a check in the full amount of her debt and she struggles with what to do with it. Should she take care of her debts or help her mother? Nicholas is a wealthy man who has been biding his time to connect with Olive. When they finally meet, he has a proposition for her. Will Olive take Nicholas up on his offer? From the get go, this storyline grabs attention and just keeps pulling you in as it goes along. Olive is a trusting person who tries to do her best for everyone, sometimes to her own detriment, and learns the power that she can wield. Nicholas is a man who grew up too fast and then turned his life around. This book is rife with twists and turns, betrayal of the worst kind and the piece de resistance….it leaves readers salivating for more as it ends in a cliffhanger. I have read many books by this author and I am hooked, one-click this story and add it to your tbr list. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
